Explore styling, expression and visual ideas, from a simple outfit change to a more expressive portrait. Share a reference or bring a starting idea.

How a free / TFP shoot works
TFP means time for print. Here, it is a collaboration with edited digital images: neither party pays a photography session fee. The brief and image-use permissions are agreed before the shoot.
1. Plan with Dex
Send your preferred shoot type, general location and possible dates. We will discuss the style, timing and what you need the photographs for.
2. Work at your pace
Receive guidance on posing and expression. You can ask questions, take a break or change an idea. No particular body type or modelling experience is required.
3. Receive your images
A selected set of edited digital photographs normally arrives within 2–3 weeks. Copyright and permitted uses follow your individual written agreement.
Portfolio use is discussed separately. Your photographs are not published by us without your explicit permission. Read the photoshoot guide.

I’m the photographer behind Apex Male Photography, an independent freelance service focused on photographing men. I work around Newcastle-under-Lyme, Stoke-on-Trent and the surrounding area.
There is no dedicated studio at present, so we discuss a suitable location together. Whether it is your first photoshoot or you have a specific brief, we will start with a conversation about what would make the session useful and comfortable for you.
