Planning your photoshoot
A photoshoot starts with a conversation about the images you want to create. Tell Apex Male Photography about your ideas, how you intend to use the photographs and any concerns you have. You do not need previous experience in front of the camera.
Before you book
Discuss the type of shoot, location, likely session length and preferred dates. Share a few reference images if they help explain your style. If you need photographs for a particular deadline, profile or publication, mention the requirements at this stage.
Photography sessions are currently offered free on a time-for-print (TFP) basis. You receive a selected set of edited digital images. Copyright and permitted uses depend on the written agreement for your shoot; permission to use photographs in a public portfolio is discussed separately.
Choose a suitable location
There is currently no dedicated studio. Shoots are usually arranged at a suitable client location or an agreed outdoor setting, with occasional home-based arrangements where practical. Privacy, access and permission to use the location should be agreed before the day.
What to bring
Bring the outfits and accessories discussed for your shoot, along with any agreed props. A small, considered selection is often easier to work with than a large wardrobe. Let us know about any practical adjustments that would help you feel comfortable.
During the session
We begin by confirming the plan and your boundaries. You will receive verbal guidance on positioning and expression, with time to pause, ask questions or change an idea. No pose or level of undress is required; you can stay clothed, cover up or stop whenever you choose.
For a personal or artistic nude session, the same approach applies: clear agreement, privacy and respect. Your comfort takes priority over completing a particular shot. The photographer remains behind the camera.
Editing and delivery
After the shoot, the strongest photographs are selected for editing. The final delivery is a selection of edited images rather than every frame taken. Edited digital images are normally supplied within 2–3 weeks, usually by email as a ZIP folder or through a password-protected OneDrive folder.
Download and back up your delivered files. If you need a particular crop or file size, discuss it before the shoot. Any portfolio or promotional use by Apex Male Photography requires your explicit permission.
